What Is Sitemap ?

How Submission Of Sitemap To Google Is Important ?
So, when you create a blog and publish about 10/15 posts on it. Than you should have to submit your blog's sitemap to Google, means you would be sending an application to Google for indexing your whole blog including all posts and other content. Now, when the Google completes the indexation of your blog, when someone searches a keyword in Google Search and it is related to your blog's niche than possibilities are there that your blog posts will also appear there. So, I am pretty sure that now you have got it why the submission of your blog's sitemap to Google is so important.
Submit Blogger Sitemap To Google
This portion contains two steps. In the first step we will verify our blog ownership by Google Webmaster Tools so that our blog gets indexed completely and quickly. In the second step we will submit the sitemap to Google.
Verifying Your Blog In Google Webmaster Tools
First you should have to go to the Google Webmaster Tools. Log in there using your Blogger account, and you will see your blog name listed there automatically because this tools is also owned by Google Team, so for better service it automatically adds your blogs in the list. After that follow the simple steps below :
- Go to Webmaster Tools Homepage >> Look For Your Blog Name
- Click Manage Site on the right side and than click on Add or remove users.
- Next, click Manage Site Owners and go to Verify Using Different Method.
- Tick mark, HTML Tag.
- A meta tag will appear, copy it.
- Open a new tab in your browser. (Note : Don't close webmasters tool tab)
- Go to Blogger >> Template >> Edit HTML.
- Search for <head> and paste that meta tag which you copied in the above steps below the <head>.
- Click Save Template.
- Open the webmaster tools tab and click on Verify at the bottom of the page.
- After clicking the Verify button, you will see a congratulations message that you have successfully verified your blog in Google Webmaster Tools. Now, lets jump to the next step and that is submitting your blog's sitemap to Google.
Submitting Sitemap To Google
Submitting your blog sitemap is also very easy. Just follow the below steps correctly and you will do it.
- Go to Google Webmaster Tools, click on the name of your blog.
- Next, there will be an option Sitemaps, click on it.
- You will be redirected to another page, on the top right of that page, there will be an option Add/Test Sitemap. Click on that option. A popup will appear.
- Copy the below code and paste it in the popup bar and press Submit Sitemap.

- Note : The above code is for 1 to 500 posts and if you have more than 500 posts published on your blog then just copy the two lines below and paste it on that popup and add it twice.

- Congratulations ! You have successfully submitted your blog's sitemap to Google. Wait about a week or two, to let the Google complete the indexation of your blog.
